Where should my room mate and I move for a good change of pace?

We have talked about places like Hawaii, Florida, Texas and even Peru. But we are both kind of unsure. There needs to be a good minimum wage, good average rent prices, low crime rates, that sort of thing.
Does any one know of a SPECIFIC town or city I can research that fits our requirements?

I would say Florida or Texas would be ideal, but I don’t know any specific towns or cities in Texas.
I’ve been to Pensacola in Florida though, and that was a really nice place.

– Miami / Ft. Lauderdale
– Savannah, GA
– Austin, TX (except not too close to a beach, but drivable)
– New Orleans
– San Juan, Puerto Rico
– San Diego
